Let all the fancy-schmnacy marketing blogs report on current developments; videos in Facebook. Snapchat. Vine launching a website.
They may tell you what’s coming next. Me, I’ve got your back. Letting all us small business folk in on trends I’ve noticed that can affect your marketing but that others are not mentioning.
For one example, have you noticed that JetBlue is using the music of Rossini in a commercial?
The TV show “Mom” is also using classical music during the transitions from scene to scene. And there are other commercials I’ve heard using classical music that I neglected to write down. (Not sure if Gershwin's music counts for United.)
Point is, it seems to be a mini-trend. Or perhaps just a coincidence. But is there anything you can do with this information, you trend seeker you? At the very least, if you are considering background music for a spot, maybe it is time to stray from the expected. I am not suggesting you go for the baroque, but at least realize there are more options that you might consider.
The bigger point, perhaps, is that just because something is only heard or seen in the background doesn't mean it isn’t worth spending some effort re-thinking.
Got the idea?
