Are you always chasing rainbows? (Cue music.) If you are, then good for you! It’s not just, to get fancy-schmancy poetic, that “A man’s reach must exceed his grasp or what’s a heaven for?”
It’s just that you should always be striving for your next good idea, your better idea, until the very moment the “drop dead” date pops up, and you have to go with what you have or run a “Compliments of a Friend” insertion.
This was all triggered by an article about whisky in The New Yorker. One master distiller, Jim McEwan, by way of explaining his open-ended quest to discover exactly how delicious a whisky can be, observed, “I’m still chasing rainbows.”
Love the way he expressed it, and loved the way it sums up a great objective for all of us.
Got the idea?
