If I didn’t do a blog once in a while with a subject that I never expected to write about, it would be surprising. And surprising is always a good idea.
So here I go, talking about exercising. No, not exercising your brain. Your body…though there will be no mention of jogging, repetitions, weights, or 6-pack abs.
Here’s the story. Most of the time when we are trying to create something, we all put in a fair amount of sitting at the computer. And though we all know what we should be doing when spending that much time sitting—we should get up, walk around, stretch—we rarely actually do anything except continue to sit.
My wife, who owns an exercise company, has told me for years the things I should be doing to alleviate the negative effects of sitting down most of the work day. But the only actual concession I have made is to always walk around the block, even if the sandwich I am getting for lunch is right next door.
So, for all you other stubborn, lazy, stiff, aching creatives, here’s something I found for us that looks relatively painless. These exercises are another way to be creative at the computer.
(And if my wife is reading this blog, yes, dear, I plan on doing more than just sharing the information. Though that alone took a lot of effort.)
Good sharing.
